Six more than in 2019, with three WorldTeams and top-class riders including the 2014 Giro d’Italia winner, Nairo Quintana, Italian champion Davide Formolo, the 2019 winner Brandon McNulty, the French riders Pierre Rolland (stage winner at both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France) and Arthur Vichot, along with the ‘home’ rider Giovanni Visconti

The teams due to start Il Giro di Sicilia, organized by RCS Sport / La Gazzetta dello Sport in collaboration with the Sicilian Region and scheduled from 1 to 4 April, have been announced. Twenty-four teams will start (compared to 18 in the 2019 edition) including three WorldTeams: EF Pro Cycling, Israel Start – Up Nation and UAE Team Emirates, along with 12 ProTeams and 9 Continental Teams.

The riders of the 24 teams at the start from Syracuse will compete in the four stages which finish at Licata, Mondello (Palermo), Caronia and Mascali. Along the way they will also climb Mt Etna from the Piano Provenzana side, the same that will be faced by the riders of the 2020 Corsa Rosa, with a look to the future and to the Grande Partenza of the 2021 Giro d’Italia in Sicily.
