Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the winner of Il Giro di Sicilia Crédit Agricole Alexey Lutsenko said: “I am super happy for this win and for the job of my team. It’s been a long time since I won a race, more than one year, but also my team needed to win now. My tactic was to attack on the last steep hill. It’s great to win Il Giro di Sicilia before the Ardennes Classics. For me it’s the same to win a stage of Il Giro di Sicilia or of the Tour de France”.
