Fran Miholjević wins Stage 3 of Il Giro di Sicilia becoming the new leader

Fran Miholjević (Cycling Team Friuli Asd) has won Stage 3 of Il Giro di Sicilia Eolo, 171km from Realmonte to Piazza Armerina. Pier-Andrè Cotè (Human Powered Health) and Filippo Fiorelli (Bardiani Csf Faizanè) finished second and third respectively.

Fran Miholjević (Cycling Team Friuli Asd) is now the new Maglia Giallo Rossa and leads in the General Classification.

Speaking seconds after the finish, the stage winner, and new Maglia Giallo Rossa, Fran Miholjević (Cycling Team Friuli Asd) said: “I still can’t believe it, I joined the breakaway to show the sponsors to the camera. We worked hard but I couldn’t believe until I got to the last 50 metres. I will try to do my best to keep the jersey tomorrow but it will be very difficult. I am very happy anyway.”
