Il Giro di Sicilia 2023: Caruso hunting second title

Preparations are in full swing for Il Giro di Sicilia Crédit Agricole, organised by RCS Sport in collaboration with the Regione Siciliana, which will start on 11 April from Marsala and finish on 14 April in Giarre, after four stages that will touch most of the island.

Among the names announced at the start with great ambitions are the 2022 Maglia Giallo Rossa Damiano Caruso, whose main contenders for the general classification will be Alexey Lutsenko, Louis Meintjes, Rafal Majka, Sébastien Reichenbach and George Bennett. The Olympic track champion Elia Viviani will headline the list of the sprinters that include Mark Cavendish (who has announced his participation), Juan Sebastian Molano, Matteo Malucelli, Niccolò Bonifazio, Filippo Fiorelli, Jhonatan Restrepo, Felix Engelhardt, Attilio Viviani, Giovanni Lonardi and Davide Persico. Other stage hunters will be Vincenzo Albanese, Valerio Conti, Simone Petilli, Davide Gabburo, Alexis Guerin, Walter Calzoni, Simon Pellaud, Tsgabu Grmay and Antonio Nibali.
